Our short film, The Specimen has been nominated for two awards at next weeks Action on Film (AOF) festival, Best Editing (Short) and Best Comedy Scene.
[The following is a re-post from The Specimen’s website] I am especially humbled at being recognized for Best Editing, considering that this is a comedic film up against mainly rapid cut action fare. I think I have a particular fart orchestra to thank for the nomination, which wouldn’t be nearly what it is without Peter Tinari’s superb sound design and composition. If I would venture a guess (as AOF has provided no further detail), I would say that sequence is also the object of our second nomination for Best Comedy Scene, which is in competition with both shorts and feature-length films. Again big thanks to Peter whose collaboration, musical sensibility, and inner twelve-year-old boy, helped shape the design of that scene long before a frame of it had even been shot.
Also huge thanks again to our cast and crew who donated their time and expertise in bringing this film to life.
As a reminder the film is playing the festival next week on Thursday 8/23/12 at 9:15PM. Tickets are available online or at the door for $10.
Award results will be presented at The AOF 2012 Black Tie Dinner and Award Show on Saturday August 25, 2012.
