DESCRIPTION
Spec Commercial for the Dan Henry 1962 Racing Chronograph.
This video is NOT paid for or sponsored by Dan Henry Watches. I have owned this watch for over a year and is from my personal collection that I spent my own cash on. But hey, Dan Henry, if you like it, let me know, maybe we can collaborate in the future?
STORY
I wanted to create a spot the evoked a high-end luxury feel while also communicating Dan Henry Watches’ goal of providing the vintage luxury watch experience at obtainable prices.
TECHNICAL
Shooting on spec for practice, meant keeping the budget in line. So to keep that luxury feel I went for infinite black. This is easy to setup in my home studio with a 5×7 collapsible backdrop, black table cloth, and my black turntable. I know the infinite black background with hints of light sweeping has been done before, but I think it evokes that high end luxury feel that was important for this spot, and a style I wanted to see if I could recreate.
For lighting, I used two Aputure MC pocket lights, which I articulated for the lighting effects by hand. All flares were created in camera.
The camera was the Sony a7III, paired with the Sony 24-105 F4 and a vintage Canon FD 50mm Macro for the macro details.
CLIENT
Not Afraid! (on spec) , but Dan Henry give us a call, seriously.
